David Ferguson, Owner
David started his career in Information Technology over 15 years ago and continues to maintain a passion in helping others. Since his earliest days in the IT field, he has continued to build his career around two key themes: building relationships and translating between technical concepts and success for the business.
My Story
David likes to say he's originally from the "hills and hollers" of rural Indiana. He got started in the IT field very early in life when he joined the U.S. Navy as an Information Systems Technician. When he told the Recruiter he didn't know a lot about computers, they replied, "It's okay! We'll teach you!" and with that, the rest was history.
David served five years on the East Coast of the United States before returning to Indiana. He continued deepening his technical prowess over the years, but found his passion in the sweet spot where business and IT intercept: Consultancy. He found a lot of his brilliant colleagues were often not able to see the bigger picture all while those on the operations, management, etc. side of the house were completely unaware of all the obstacles an army of 1's and 0's can present. This is where he found his groove; making the "techie talk" relatable and understandable for those outside of IT and conveying business requirements, goals, milestones, and deliverables to those with their hands on the keyboards. David has worked in various B2B roles in the areas of Consultancy, Program Management, Project Management, Scrum Master, Service Delivery & Support, and Customer Success.
Education is very near and dear to David as it is highlighted in his professional life as well as his philanthropic activities. He pursued his Master of Science in Management, IT Management through Indiana Wesleyan University and his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Management Information Systems through the Indiana Institute of Technology. He completing both programs at accelerated paces by doubling-up on credit hours all while maintaining full time employment and raising a family. As a continuous learner, he holds various industry credentials and certifications. In his spare time, he has most recently completed for four years of service on the Board of Directors for a local nonprofit focused on enhancing educational experiences in his community. Lastly, he is an Adjunct Professor with the School of IT for the Ivy Tech Community College system.
After noticing a growing trend in the need for professional, high quality and reasonably priced technology services in his local community, David opened ApexDC to serve those around him.
David resides with his wife and children in the Center Grove community on the Southside of the Indianapolis Metropolitan area.
